A wonderfully dramatic vintage 1930s Chinese style tunic or jacket, dressmaker or couturier made from a shimmering rayon brocade fabric with stylised multicoloured floral designs on a geometric blue-grey background. The fitted bodice has a mandarin collar, feature sleeves which are full at the top, pleated & supported at the head and taper into a slim forearm & pointed popper-fastened cuff, and fastens down to the waist with fabric knot buttons & swirls; the skirt section is A-line in shape, with concealed popper fastenings to hip level. Unlined, no labels present.

Condition: In excellent condition overall, appears seldom worn - on close examination there are a couple of tiny surface snags. Has been carefully hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
