The ‘Old Fashioned Garments’ patch pocket zip neck jumper is a vintage reproduction adapted from a 1930s Bestway 'Wind-Breaker' knitting pattern. Knitwear of this style with pockets was popular in the '30s & '40s for outdoor & sporting activities but originals are exceedingly rare today.
Each garment is individually hand made in our Norfolk workroom by Rosie on a manually operated knitting machine (sometimes referred to as ‘hand frame knitting’) using British wool 4-ply yarns which have been carefully chosen for their traditional appearance; many of them are discontinued or new old stock shades. The particular item in the photographs is the garment you will receive, this is the only one, it is only available in the colour & size combination shown - thus each one is unique, there is no factory mass production here!
This one is made from pure un-dyed Dorset Down breed Shetland yarn in a natural grey/brown/cream marl; it is fitted with a new old stock 6" brass 'Lightning' zip & new old stock 1940s buttons.
