The ‘Old Fashioned Garments’ polo neck jumper is a vintage reproduction faithfully adapted from an original WW2 'Bairns-wear Service Woollies' pattern; it differs from our other roll necks in having a more fitted body & shaped neckline.
Each garment is individually hand made in our Norfolk workroom by Rosie on a manually operated knitting machine (sometimes referred to as ‘hand frame knitting’) using British wool 4-ply yarns which have been carefully chosen for their traditional appearance; many of them are discontinued or new old stock shades. The particular item in the photographs is the garment you will receive, this is the only one, it is only available in the colour & size combination shown - thus each one is unique, there is no factory mass production here!
This one is made from a slightly lighter weight pure Shetland wool in a variegated burnt sienna colour; it has a soft texture & can comfortably be worn next to the skin.
