The ‘Old Fashioned Garments’ Type 2 roll neck jumper is a vintage reproduction faithfully adapted from an original 1940s pattern; unlike our other roll neck this one has dropped shoulders, different front and back pieces so that it is not reversible, and 2 x 2 ribbing.
Each garment is individually hand made in our Norfolk workroom by Rosie on a manually operated knitting machine (sometimes referred to as ‘hand frame knitting’) using British wool 4-ply yarns which have been carefully chosen for their traditional appearance; many of them are discontinued or new old stock shades. The particular item in the photographs is the garment you will receive, this is the only one, it is only available in the colour & size combination shown - thus each one is unique, there is no factory mass production here!
This one is made from a medium weight pure Shetland wool in a delightful myrtle green melange - on my screen the outdoor shots on the model are most accurate.
