The ‘Old Fashioned Garments’ zip neck jumper is a vintage reproduction adapted from a 1940s Bestway ‘Man’s Lumber Jacket’ pattern. Each piece is individually hand made by Rosie on a manually operated knitting machine (sometimes referred to as ‘hand frame knitting’) using discontinued or end of line British wool medium-weight 4-ply yarns which have been carefully chosen for their traditional appearance; thus each one is either unique or a very limited edition. This style of pullover was very popular from the 1930s to the 1950s, but originals are extremely difficult to find today, especially in wearable condition.
This example is in a marled Lovat blue colour; it is fitted with a new old stock 6" brass 'Lightning' zip. There is no more of this yarn, so it is a one-off.
