The ‘Old Fashioned Garments’ zip neck jumper is a vintage reproduction adapted from a 1940s Bestway ‘Man’s Lumber Jacket’ pattern; this style of pullover was very popular from the 1930s to the 1950s, but originals are extremely difficult to find today, especially in wearable condition.
Each garment is individually hand made in our Norfolk workroom by Rosie on a manually operated knitting machine (sometimes referred to as ‘hand frame knitting’) using British wool 4-ply yarns which have been carefully chosen for their traditional appearance; many of them are discontinued or new old stock shades. The particular item in the photographs is the garment you will receive, this is the only one, it is only available in the colour & size combination shown - thus each one is unique, there is no factory mass production here!
This one is made from Shetland yarn in rich rust brown with contrasting ribbing in dark brown; it is fitted with a new old stock 6" brass 'Lightning' zip.
