A vintage late 1940s or early 1950s dress, made from a rayon fabric with a woven micro-check in pink & white. The bodice has a V neck with large, pointed collar, curved all-round shoulder yoke with gathers at the front, short sleeves with turn-back cuffs, & opens to the waist with 4 white plastic buttons; the skirt is very flared & gathered all round into the curved yoke. Both the yokes & the front collar edges are trimmed with white bias tape, there is a popper-fastened side opening, & belt loops but no belt.

Condition: In good condition overall, with some minor flaws: there is a small hole on the left shoulder & a small frayed area on the right edge of the collar (arrowed in close up) - some faint scattered yellowish spots on both shoulders & a larger patch of spots on the skirt front - a patch of tiny surface snags & pinholes on the right bust (circled). Has been hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
