A lovely vintage late 1930s dress, home made from drapey rayon crepe with a textured self-pattern in a chartreuse or greeny mustard colour. It has a high round neck, a semi-circular yoke with decorative bows to the front & a back opening with 4 self-covered buttons; the elbow length sleeves have matching buttons on the cuff bands. The bodice & the flared skirt are gathered into the front waistband; only the skirt is gathered into the back waist. There are long, wide ties gathered into the side seams which can tie at the back or front, & a side opening with popper fasteners. The dress has been well made, with nicely finished inside seams.

Condition: In good condition overall, with light wear & some minor flaws: - a very tiny puncture hole to the waistband at the front (measures approx. 2mm) - the fabric covered buttons on the neck back & cuffs have rusty marks around the edges - there are faint, patchy/blotchy orangey marks to the ends of the ties, and scattered along the hem, which in my opinion would not be very apparent when the dress is worn. I hand washed the dress in cool water with Woolite detergent, & the marks faded somewhat, so they may diminish with further laundering.
