A truly wonderful vintage 1940s dress, very nicely home made from rayon crepe with a textured squiggly self-pattern in a rich rusty red colour. It has a stand collar, smocking on the upper bodice embellished with trapped clear glass beads which then creates drape below the bust, short sleeves with smocking at the cuffs, & flared skirt with smocked mock pockets on the front. It fastens at the neck back & side with silver metal 'Elite' zips, & there are thread belt loops but no belt.

Condition: In very good condition overall - there is faint discolouration at the armpits - subtle sun-fading across the shoulders & down the outer sleeves - on close examination a tiny repair on the right shoulder - a faint dark mark about half way down the rear left of the skirt which the camera couldn't see - the hem has been let down to the maximum. Has been carefully hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
