Original Vintage 1930s Woven Guatemalan Souvenir Jacket & Clutch Bag UK XS

A really wonderful vintage 1930s Guatemalan souvenir or tourist jacket & matching clutch bag, made from cotton canvas fabric with woven multicoloured stylised figures, animals & geometric shapes based on traditional native designs. The single-breasted jacket has broad, curved notch lapels, narrow, unpadded shoulders, straight sleeves with darted, puffed heads into which the wearer's shoulders extend, fitted waist & 2 lower patch pockets; it fastens with 2 self-covered buttons & is unlined. The bag is a simple rectangle, lined with natural, slubby canvas with an inside pocket; it fastens with a silver metal zip with dangly ball puller. No labels present.

Condition:
In very good condition overall - the jacket has a slight dusty patina & a few surface snags; one front panel has been cut slightly longer than the other & the sleeves have been cut without matching the pattern, so at first glance one appears longer than the other although it is not - the bag has faded more than the jacket & is a bit grubby; it is coming a bit loose near one end (see close up).
Has been thoroughly steamed prior to listing.
