Rare 1940s WW2 50s Lounging Pyjamas PJs Tartan Plaid Rayon UK S
A superb circa 1940s novelty lounging or beach pyjama suit by “Embielle”, made from smooth, lustrous, slightly ribbed lightweight rayon fabric with a woven Buchanan Tartan pattern in cheerful shades of red, yellow, green & blue. The jacket has a broad open collar, two chest pockets, short sleeves & an attached tie belt; it fastens with 3 large buttermilk-coloured buttons & has decorative white piped edging. The trousers are a rare longer fitting, have a high waist & very wide legs, with darts at the front of the waistband & gathers at the back; they fasten at the side with hooks & eyes.
Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate (with approx. metric equivalent):

Condition:
In excellent, apparently unworn condition - they appear to have been an unwanted gift - some of the French seams have tufts showing, due to the inside seam not being adequately clipped (does not affect strength) - the belt is made from several pieces & the fabric has pulled away a bit on one of the joins - the hooks & eyes are rather loosely sewn on.
I have a no returns policy - please check the above measurements and compare to a similar garment of your own before buying - no refund offered for items that don’t fit.
