A rare vintage c.late 1930s handmade silk dress with a charming rural printed design featuring trees, flowers & a gate in dusky pink, red, light green, blue & white against a black background. The dress has a round neckline with gathers, bracelet length sleeves, & matching waist belt; The 4 gore skirt is intentionally slim hipped with a centre pleat at the front & back allowing it to flare towards the hem. The side opening has a replacement vintage metal zip fastening.

Condition: In good condition overall, but in daylight it can be seen that there subtle discolouration at back of the bodice - & at the armpits where the lighter colours in the pattern look a bit less vibrant than elsewhere. The dress has a slightly musty perfume smell.
