A wonderful & rare pair of vintage 1930s German plus fours or knickerbocker trousers, made by 'J. Hetzel' from a soft, medium-weight wool fabric in a beautifully intricate herringbone check weave in shades of honey brown & beige. They are full-cut & high waisted, fasten at both sides & have an integral waistband to allow the seat to drop, with two angled, scalloped-flapped front pockets & buckled tabs at the cuffs. The waist has been professionally taken in at some time, & could be let out if desired.

Condition: In very good to excellent condition overall, apart from some brown stains on the thighs & at the fork (see close ups) - some minor damage to the buttons on the waistband & a little bit of rust on the buckles. Have been carefully hand washed & pressed prior to listing.
