A fantastic and rare vintage 1940s or early 1950s German red leather zip-up sports or motorcycle jacket. Made with a plethora of super details, it has padded shoulders, scalloped yoke at front & back, generous pointed collar, elasticated waist with attached front belt with leather-covered buckle, front seams with set-in vertical zip-fastened pockets & front zip fastening with wind flap behind; all them are the original silver metal 'Zipp' brand zippers, with lovely dangly ball pullers. It is fully lined in dark brown rayon; no labels present; the buckle is marked 'Astor'. A unisex style which could work on male or female, so shown on both mannequins.

Size: Suggested UK Male S, Female M depending on what is worn beneath. Shown on a male mannequin with a 38" chest (it was too tight) & a female mannequin with a 36 bust (please check measurements below)
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate (with approx. metric equivalent):

Condition:
In very good condition - the leather is soft & supple, with light overall wear, creasing & patina - there are some scattered dark marks & spots, most noticeably on the left rear shoulder & left skirt where there is also slight colour loss due to somebody trying to remove the marks, and on the left sleeve; the sheen on the leather made these difficult to photograph - there is darkening on the collar fold - the sleeves have been worn folded up about 1", so there is a slightly darker crease line - the elastic in the inner storm cuffs has perished - the buckle has a small dent & the leather covering is a bit loose in one corner.
