Vintage 1940s Tweed Jacket Green Wool UK S/M
Vintage 1940s Tweed Jacket Green Wool UK S/M
A striking vintage 1940s jacket, tailor or dressmaker made from a fairly heavyweight but soft tweed fabric in bottle green & black herringbone. It has broad peak lapels, strongly padded shoulders, Princess seams at the front, darted nipped-in waist, 2 lower welted pockets: the front fastens with 4 marbled burgundy early plastic buttons. Fully lined in dark red crepe de chine.
Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
Size: Suggested UK S/M Depending on what is worn beneath. Shown on a mannequin with a 36" bust (please check measurements below)

Condition:
In very good condition overall - there is the remains of a spot of white paint on the left bust - 3 small moth nibbles/grazes to the left sleeve (arrowed) - a repair to the bottom right front edge (arrowed) - the lining has some scattered marks/watermarks, is slightly yellowed across the shoulder/neck area, seam strain across the hip area, minor wear at the armpits & a hole near the right armpit. Has been carefully washed & steamed prior to listing.
I do my very best to carefully list/illustrate any flaws I find. This item is sold as is - no returns unless the item has been grossly misrepresented.
Please check the above measurements and compare to a similar garment of your own before buying - no refund offered for items that don’t fit.
