A really wonderful vintage 1940s dress made from a deep reddish brown coloured rayon crepe fabric. It has dramatic ruched frills decorated with fabric coils & bronze coloured sequins at the right shoulder & left hip, a v-shaped neckline, 2 tucks at the left shoulder, & elbow length sleeves. The skirt is a slim, fairly straight style with a draped peplum which attaches to the bodice in a curved seam. It fastens at the neck back with brown early plastic buttons & loops, & at the side with a brass 'Lightning' zip.

Condition: In excellent condition overall - on close examination in daylight there is a small area of scattered light spots or marks toward the bottom of the peplum, and subtle gradual fade across the shoulders (see last photo). The dress has been gently hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
