Original Vintage 1930s Handmade Dress Saw Tooth Flame Raspberry Red UK S/M

An exceptional & rare vintage early 1930s dress, very nicely home or dressmaker made from satin-backed rayon crepe in a dusky raspberry colour. It has a V neck trimmed with cream satin piping, one-piece body (i.e. without waist seams) with a T-shaped front panel forming the yoke & centre section with overlaid sawtooth decoration using the satin side out, ruched sections at the shoulder front, & 3/4 length slim sleeves with pleated heads. The skirt section is a narrow, quite slim-hipped style, with kick pleats at front & back. The dress has 11 decorative self-covered buttons down the front, belt loops, & a matching popper-fastened belt ; there are no openings so the dress must pull on over the head.

Condition:
In good to very condition overall - there is subtle fading across the shoulders - discolouration & some surface wear at the armpits - a tiny repair under the left armpit & an almost-invisible repair at the right rear armpit - an area of small holes & some rubs at the left neck edge - a small section of broken stitches on the right hand ruched panel - on closer examination an overall scattered faint dark freckling or marking to the crepe & some subtle darkening to the satin parts - some marks & stains inside the hem - some colour bleed on the inside of the cream trim - the top of the front kick pleat has been hand reinforced.
