A very amusing vintage late 1930s or 1940s hat, made from black woven faux straw (probably rayon - I'm sure there's a name for this fabric but I don't know what it is!) formed into an asymmetrical brimmed beret or pancake shape which perches on the side of the head. It is embellished with 2 chenille or plush little bird heads, one black & one white, with glass eyes & quill beaks, & a corresponding removable feather for each; there is a petersham band inside & an elastic band to secure it to the head. No labels present.

Condition: In very good condition, does not appear much worn - there is slight wear to the birds & feathers - the elastic is a replacement.
