A lovely vintage 1930s French overall dress, made from cotton fabric with a plaid or checked print in shades of brown, green & off-white with white bias binding trim. It is made in wrap-over style, with internal waist tie & 2 external ties, has a V neckline with applied decorative faux collar & buttons, short, puffed sleeves with buttoned cuffs, & 2 patch pockets. Could equally be worn as a summer dress or beach wrapper. Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.

Shown on a mannequin with a 36" bust, 28" waist, 38" hip & it fitted her well (please check measurements below) All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate (with approx. metric equivalent): Bust: 19 1/2"(49.5 cm) Waist (pulls in with the belt): maximum 17" (43.2 cm) Hips (measured 7" below waist level: 19 1/2" (49.5 cm) Shoulder width seam to shoulder seam: 14 1/2" (36.8 cm) Sleeve length shoulder to cuff: 9 1/4" (23.5cm) Cuff opening: 5 1/2" (14cm) Approx length nape to hem: 44 1/2" (113 cm)
Condition: In very good to excellent condition overall, see circled areas in photos for the following flaws: there are a couple of faint grease marks & a dark mark at the skirt back, tiny freckle like marks to an area of the faux lapel, & ink writing inside the neckband (not visible when worn). Has been gently hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
