An extraordinary & rare vintage 1940s or early 1950s housecoat or robe, made by 'Kay Sidney' from a medium-weight slightly fleecy all wool fabric in a striking eau de nil green colour with flocked floral decoration around the neck & down the leading edge. It is a wrap-over style with a shawl collar, has padded shoulders, straight sleeves with pointy turn-back cuffs, slash pockets below the waist, & fastens with a flared self-tie waist belt.

Condition: Does not appear to have been much worn, in very good condition overall apart from several areas of small moth nibbles to the fleecy surface of the fabric - the most noticeable are on the left back shoulder, on the collar, at the armpits, & towards the front hem, these are shown in close ups - there is a tiny repair to the upper back (arrowed). Has been thoroughly steamed prior to listing.
