A striking vintage c.1940s black felt hat somewhat in the halo beret genre, with broad heart-shaped brim. The hat is handmade from a single piece of felt, cunningly shaped, folded, stitched & creased, is trimmed with bands & a false bow of folded grosgrain ribbon, & has a petersham inner headband; it is intended to sit toward the back of the head.

Condition: In excellent condition overall, appears seldom worn - on close examination there is a faint mark to the ribbon trim.
