Rare vintage 1940s CC41 Utility labelled breeches made from sturdy Derby Tweed in a marled brownish colour with subtle bottle green & burgundy broken pinstripes. Cut in the classic style with wide thighs, high rise fishtail back, full-cut seat, button fly & braces buttons, 2 front pockets & 1 rear flapped pocket, lace-up fastened at the calf.

Size: Suggested 36/37" waist, regular length fitting.
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Waist: 18 1/2" (47cm)
Inside leg to hem: 25" (63.5cm)
Inside leg to knee: approx. 15" (38cm)
Outside leg (in a straight line): 35" (89cm)
Rise - crotch seam to top of waist: 13 1/2" (34.3cm)
Leg width at calf seam (i.e. the narrowest point): 6 1/4" (16cm)
Condition:
In good condition overall, with some signs of wear & repair - some grubbiness on the inside legs & around the calves - a slight fade line down each outside leg seam - a repair to the right calf where the tongue appears to have pulled off & been sewn back on upside down - a missing eyelet on the left leg - grubbiness, stains & marks to the waistband lining, especially at the back. Have been thoroughly steamed prior to listing but not cleaned - they have musty storage smell.
