A somewhat shabby vintage 1940s overcoat, made from a thick slightly fleecy wool cloth in a herringbone weave in shades of brown with subtle burnt orange overchecks. It is double-breasted with broad lapels, has medium-padded shoulders with rear-sloping seams, large cuff tabs, 2 flapped lower patch pockets, & matching belt with leather-covered buckle. Half lined with taupe rayon twill fabric, with inside breast & ticket pockets. No labels present - presents quite well but has some damage, priced accordingly.

Size: Suggested Medium Regular, to fit about a 40" chest, depending on whether a suit jacket is worn beneath.

Condition:
In well-worn condition with additional moth damage overall - there is surface wear & loss of nap on some of the high spots & edges, particularly the collar fold, around the cuffs & on the front of the belt - numerous patches of moth nibbling, some of which are small holes, most noticably across the upper back, rear right shoulder, on the back skirt towards the waist, left sleeve towards the cuff, left front behind the belt & lower left skirt front - some stains, marks & scuffs to the lining - some of the buttons have been amateurishly re-sewn; the top fastening button has been sewn through the inside pocket - some wear & splits to the buckle covering. Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing.
