Vintage Mens 1940s CC41 Mens Double Breasted Overcoat Coat Teal Blue Glen Check Wool DB M
A striking vintage 1940s CC41 Utility Scheme overcoat, made from a thick wool cloth in Prince of Wales check or glen plaid weave in beautiful shades of teal blue with burnt orange overchecks. It is double-breasted with broad lapels, has 6 front buttons & 3 decorative buttons on the cuffs, quite heavily padded shoulders with rear-sloping seams, 2 flapped lower pockets, long rear kick vent, & belt loops but no belt. Fully lined with taupe rayon twill fabric, with an inside breast pocket. The CC41 label has been removed but there is a sliver in the seam & tell-tale stitch marks showing the outline. Presents quite well but shows wear - please read the condition notes.
NB The leather belt shown is a styling suggestion & is NOT included.
Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
Size: Suggested Medium Regular, to fit about a 40" chest, depending on whether a suit jacket is worn beneath.

Condition:
In good but well-used, characterful condition - there is an overall slight patina/yellowing - wear, fraying & some small holes around the cuff edges - discolouration to the collar fold & a tiny hole on the centre back collar edge - wear & fraying to the buttonholes - one front button is an odd replacement & the buttons have been amateurishly re-sewn, the cuff buttons are a slightly different set (but may have always been) - there is significant wear & holes to the pocket flap linings & the pocket bags, which are loose & damaged around the tops - 2 very faint small white marks to the left sleeve - the lining is stained & watermarked, with wear & holes at the neck back & some popped stitches at the top of the kick vent - there is a hole at the bottom of the left inside facing near the hem. Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing.
I have a no returns policy - please check the above measurements and compare to a similar garment of your own before buying - no refund offered for items that don’t fit.
