A vintage 1940s shirt dress, made by 'Solida' from crisp cotton fabric in red with a bold novelty floral print in blue, white & black. It has an open neck with generous pointed & scalloped revers, short sleeves with false turn-backs, elasticated waist, & flared skirt with pouchy pockets with scalloped tops; collar, cuffs & pockets are trimmed with black piping. The dress opens all the way down the front with black plastic buttons.

Condition: In very good to excellent condition overall, appears seldom worn but with the following minor flaws - some stitching holding the waist elastic has unravelled in a small area (top, last photo) - there is a tiny hole and a small repair to the skirt (see arrow/circled areas, bottom, last photo). Has been carefully hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
