Vintage 1940s Dress Multicoloured Floral Print Black Silk Double Zip UK S
Vintage 1940s Dress Multicoloured Floral Print Black Silk Double Zip UK S
A really super vintage 1940s dress, exquisitely made by (or from) 'Cresta Silks' from silk fabric with a bold multicoloured floral print on a black background. The bodice has a v-shaped neckline, gathering at the shoulders & under the bust, short puff sleeves with gathered heads & elasticated cuffs, & deep midriff section made up of narrow strips with applied self ribbons decoratively tied at the front; the skirt is very wide & gathered into the waist section. Unusually, the dress opens at both sides with black-painted silver metal 'Lightning' zips.
Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.

Condition:
In very good condition overall - on close examination: the sleeves have been let out at the underarms & the fabric there on the right sleeve is thinned along the original stitch line - there is a pin sized hole to the skirt near the hem (bottom, 1st montage photo) - a tiny darn to the waistband near the right hand zip - some hand stitching along the centre front seam - a tiny darn to the neck back and a small fray on the edge of the neck back. Has been carefully hand washed and steamed prior to listing.
I have a no returns policy - please check the above measurements and compare to a similar garment of your own before buying - no refund offered for items that don’t fit.
