An attractive vintage late 1940s or early 1950s dress, home / hand made from a drapey rayon crepe fabric with a wonderful abstract geometric & twig print in brown, rust & green against a white background. The bodice is sleeveless, has a boat or slash neckline with tucks at either side, & fastens on the left shoulder with a popper & hook with 3 decorative brownish buttons; the skirt is very flared with gathered panels deeply pleated into the waist at the sides. The dress fastens at the side with a silver metal 'MEWA' zip.

Condition: In very good condition, with light wear overall - the fabric has frayed slightly at the top of the zip, there is a tiny hole about 1" up from the hem, 1 small hole about 8" up from the hem, a small patch repair near the side seam (very hard to see when worn) and a feint mark to the skirt front (all shown in close ups). Has been carefully hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
