A super vintage 1940s dress, home made from drapey rayon with a textured self-pattern in a buttery yellow colour. The cleverly cut bodice has gathers into a slash creating a plunging neckline, long darts at the back for fit, & short sleeves; the skirt is very flared with a centre panel gathered into a mock basque seam, & 4 gores at the back. It opens at the side with a painted metal 'Lightning' zip, & has self-covered buttons to decorate the front. The dress has been well made, with nicely finished inside seams.

Condition: In very good condition with light wear overall - there is a faint mark on the neckline where a popper once was (see close up) - a very faint squiggly mark at the right waist side (arrowed) - 2 small marks on the skirt back (see close up) - a few scattered surface snags. Has been carefully hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
