A rare vintage circa 1940s or early 1950s German or Austrian back-belted hunting or Trachten jacket, made from wool doeskin fabric in a deep forest green shade trimmed with bottle green collar, cuff tabs & piping - on my screen the mannequin shots are most accurate. Single-breasted with notch lapels, medium padded shoulders, four flapped, welted pockets with buttons on the chest ones, & two-piece half-belt at the back; fitted with grey/green plastic stag head buttons & lined with green rayon twill with off-white striped sleeve linings.

Condition: In good condition with signs of wear & some flaws - the collar facing is stained & grubby on the fold; there is a wear hole & a clunky repair on the neck back - the cuff edges have worn through in places & there are marks around the inside - a piece of the cuff trim has been removed from the inside to patch the collar - there are some tiny moth nips near the leading edge by the buttons - 2 small holes in the bottom right pocket flap lining. Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing.
