Vintage 1940s Ginger Brown Tweed Tam O'Shanter Tammy Beret
A vintage 1940s tam o'shanter or beret, made from fairly heavyweight tweed fabric which has the look & feel of Harris Tweed in a marled gingery brown colour. It has a stiffened circular crown with 2-piece side wall, 1-piece headband decorated with a suede 'bow', internal petersham sweatband with bones to keep it upright, & the crown is lined with pinky-copper rayon.
Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
Size: Shown on a model with a 22" head circumference & it was too tight on her.
Width of crown at widest: 9" (22.8m)
Inner circumference: approx. 21 1/2" (54.5cm)
Condition:
In very good condition overall, with some minor moth nibbles to the edge of the crown (see close up), some marking to the sweatband & a small hole to the lining.
I have a no returns policy - please check the above measurements and compare to a similar garment of your own before buying - no refund offered for items that don’t fit.
