A very rare vintage 1940s machine-knitted waistcoat, made in Scotland from a fine all wool yarn in a soft green colour with scalloped edging in off white. It has a V neck with revers, classic pointed hem, & a single patch pocket with false flap; the front fastens with 6 white early plastic buttons with a floral design.

All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate (with approx. metric equivalent):
Bust pit to pit: relaxed 17 1/2” - stretched 19" (44.3cm - 48.2cm)
Shoulder to shoulder: 15” (38.1cm)
Arm opening: 10 1/2" (26.6cm)
Waist: relaxed 14" - stretched 15 1/2" (35.5cm - 39.3cm)
Back length from nape to hem: 19 1/2” (49.5cm)
Width at hem: relaxed 15 1/2”- stretched 18" ( (45.7cm)
Condition:
In good condition overall with the following flaws - there are 2 white spots on the front & 1 on the back (all circled) - 2 small repairs on the front left & 1 on the centre back ribbing (all circled) - a repair on the back neck edge (arrowed). Has been carefully hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
