Vintage 1940s Green Wool Asymmetrical Astrakhan Trim Coat UK L
Vintage 1940s Green Wool Asymmetrical Astrakhan Trim Coat UK L
A striking 1940s American coat made from a medium weight 'Forstmann' virgin wool & rabbit hair fabric in a mossy green colour, with black Astrakhan fur collar & trim. It is a wrap-over style fastened with a large button at the neck & poppers at the waist, has strongly padded shoulders & unusual semi-saddle sleeves which create a front yoke with darts beneath, curved hip yoke, & rounded leading edge to the skirt; it is fully lined in greenish satiny rayon fleecy-backed fabric. There are no makers labels.
Size: Suggested UK L Shown on a mannequin with a 42" bust size & it was too snug on the bust, better suited to a maximum 39" bust (please check measurements below). All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate (with approx. metric equivalent):

Condition:
In good condition overall - there are a number of scattered tiny moth nips to the surface of the fabric (not actual holes), about 20 in total, the most obvious of which are shown in close ups - a faint mark to the skirt front (circled) - some baldness to the collar fold - some wear to the leading edges. Has been thoroughly steamed prior to listing.
Returns: I do my very best to carefully list/illustrate any flaws I find. This item is sold as is - no returns unless the item has been grossly misrepresented. Please check the above measurements and compare to a similar garment of your own before buying - no refund offered for items that don’t fit
