A vintage 1940s night dress, made from rayon fabric in a very pale blue colour & trimmed with white embroidered gauzy fabric. It is sleeveless, has a plunging V neckline, double front panels, pointed midriff panel with waist ties at the sides, & long skirt gathered into the waist.
Size: Marked to fit bust 42/44. Suggested UK XL. Shown on a mannequin with a 36" bust & it was loose on her (please check measurements below) All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate (with approx. metric equivalent): Bust (intended to drape): 24" (61cm) Waist (can be pulled in with the ties): 21" (53.3cm) Hips: free Shoulder width strap to strap (outer sides): 18" (45.7cm) Arm opening: 10 1/2" (26.6cm) Bodice length (nape to waist seam, intended to drape): 17" (43.2cm) Length nape to hem: 49" (124.3cm)
Condition: In good condition overall - there are several tiny holes to the upper bodice & 1 to the hem (all circled), and subtle yellow discoloration to the upper back & shoulders (see 2nd to last photo). Has been carefully hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
