A very chic vintage late 1940s cocktail dress by well-known American maker 'R&K Originals', made from rayon crepe fabric in a slightly iridescent royal blue colour. It has a taller at the front than the back stand collar, shirring at the bodice sides, long, wide, billowy sleeves gathered into deep cuffs, & lowered waist seam with a narrow peplum band which passes through the separate tie at the back; the 3-gore skirt is flared, & the dress fastens down the back with a painted metal 'Crown' zip.

Condition: In good condition overall, does not appear to have been much worn, but with colour issues due to poor storage which the camera couldn't pick up very well - there is a fade line across the shoulders, down the outer sleeves & outer edges of the skirt (the fade has blurred edges, i.e. not a hard line of colour change) - the sleeves have a subtle somewhat mottled appearance in places - there is subtle discolouration inside the neckband.
