An unusual 1940s French evening dress by 'Sous Le Signe De Paris', made from a rayon taffeta fabric in sky blue colour. It has a high round neck, curved front yoke & skirt yoke with corded trapunto decoration, long, slim sleeves with pearlescent buttons at the cuffs, & very flared skirt; it opens down the back with a gold-coloured metal 'Ritex' zip.

Condition: In good condition overall - the fabric has a slightly puckered appearance in places - there is a tiny hole toward the top of the right sleeve - seam strain at the darts - slight tuftiness around the neck edge - some stitch marks & tuftiness alongside the zip where it has been re-stitched - some watermarks towards the right front hem, some dark spots towards the back hem & an amateurishly-repaired L-shaped tear on the left front hem (all in photo 10) - a repair at the top of the vent on the left cuff & the rouleau loops are a bit frayed - on close examination there is a very faint watermark on the skirt front (circled) & a few scattered pinholes. Has been carefully hand washed & steamed prior to listing
