A really fun vintage American 1940s dress from 'Eva Bottom, Baltimore', made from a soft medium-weight wool fabric in a bold gingham check in dark blue/grey & cream with woven red/blue spots. It has a dolman bodice, round neck with interesting asymmetrical scarf collar, & long sleeves; the skirt is very flared, with 6 gores with pleats between, & has pockets at the sides. The dress opens to the waist with self-covered buttons & at the side with a metal 'Talon' zip. NB The belt shown in the photos is NOT included & is not for sale.

Size: Suggested UK S Shown on a mannequin with a 36" bust (please check measurements below) All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate (with approx. metric equivalent): Bust: 19 1/2" (49.5cm) Waist: 14" (35.6cm) Hips: Free Sleeve centre back of neck to cuff approx.: 31" (78.7cm) Sleeve width at widest point (armpit level): 6 1/2" (16.5cm) Skirt length from waist seam to hem: 25" (63.4cm) Length neck back to hem: 42" (106.7cm)
Condition: In good condition overall, with some minor flaws: - there are about 20 very small darned repairs scattered overall, the most apparent are shown in close up; in my opinion they are barely visible when worn - a few slightly larger repairs to the armpit seams - minor discolouration to the buttons & to the armpits - a few very faint small marks & a couple of pinholes. Has been hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
