A really wonderful vintage 1940s jacket, tailor made from a fairly heavyweight shepherd check or dogtooth tweed fabric in dark red, teal blue, brown & natural. It has broad notch lapels, strongly padded shoulders, nipped-in waist, & 4 open-topped patch pockets with false flaps; the front fastens with 4 horn-effect early plastic buttons. Fully lined in coral pink crepe de chine, & there are hem weights at the sides.

Condition:
In very good condition overall - externally there is a very small repair at the bottom right corner of the lower left pocket - a small snag at the right armpit - subtle yellowing on the collar fold - internally the body lining has scattered spots & marks, some holes at the hem, some discolouration at the neck area & armpits, wear/fraying to the hanging loop, the sleeve linings have a patch & several small holes, some holes around the hem at the cuffs. Has been thoroughly steamed prior to listing but not cleaned.
