A super vintage 1940s blouse, made from a floppy rayon fabric in narrow red & white Bengal stripes which has been used in multiple directions for maximum effect. It has an open neck with long, pointed collar, a deep shoulder yoke with gathers at the front, short sleeves & a jaunty little pocket shaped like 2 interlocking triangles. The front placket has the stripes sideways, & fastens with pale pink cutout flower early plastic buttons; the waist is elasticated. No labels, but one has been removed from the neck, which may have been a CC41 label as it seems the right width - based on long experience the blouse certainly has the look & feel of a Utility garment .

Condition: In good condition with overall signs of wear & some flaws: - there is discolouration & dark marks at the armpits - fraying at the top buttonhole - a repair behind the 2nd button down & some drawn threads nearby - the buttonholes are all a bit tired - a small hole to the back right shoulder - a few drawn threads & snags, most noticeably on the back right sleeve - on looking inside, many of the seam edges are frayed. Has been hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
