A lovely vintage 1940s dress, home made from a lacey embroidered net fabric with marled pink & white floral motifs on a dark blue background. It has a V neck with small roll or shawl collar, elbow-length sleeves with turn-back cuffs, & a wide, pointed waistband into which the flared skirt is gathered; there is a small popper-fastened side opening on the waistband. The dress is not intended to be worn overly tight; it is translucent so a full slip may be desired underneath.

Condition: In good condition overall, with signs of wear & some damage as is usual with such a delicate fabric - an area of small repaired holes on the neck back - a group of small holes towards the hem on the centre front & a longer hole also near the hem near the side seam (see 2nd to last photo)) - a small hole on the front of the right sleeve, by the body seam - a small tear at the top of the placket (see last photo) - some scattered snags to the embroidery & tiny breaks in the net fabric.
