A vintage 1940s/1950s American sweater by 'Lofties', made from fine, boucle textured 100% wool chenille yarn in a vibrant peacock blue colour which my camera struggled to capture; it is somewhat richer in person. The sweater is Dolman style with elbow length sleeves, has a raised cable design border around the neck & arms, ribbed shawl collar, & horizontally ribbed waistband & cuffs.

Size: Suggested UK S shown on a mannequin with a 36" bust (please check measurements below) All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate (with approx. metric equivalent): Sweater: Bust (measured 8 1/2" up from the hem): 17" relaxed - 19" stretched (43.2cm - 48.2cm) Waist: 13 3/4" relaxed - 15 1/2" stretched (35cm - 39.3cm) Sleeve length from centre of neck back to cuff (elbow length): 24 1/2" (62.2cm) Sleeve width at widest point (armpit level): 8 1/2" relaxed (21.5cm) Length from neck back to hem: 20 1/2" (52cm)
Condition: In good condition overall, there are 2 small repairs on the front (circled & shown in a close up) & a very feint mark on the right cuff (arrowed). Has been hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
