A vintage 1950s Harris Tweed sports jacket, made from 100% pure wool in a classic mini check weave in shades of brown, pale blue & natural. Single breasted 3-button fastening with fairly wide lapels - no vents - quite heavily padded shoulders - fitted or suppressed waist - welted breast & lower flapped pockets - leather 'football' buttons - fully lined with shiny beige fabric (which is a replacement) with 1 chest pocket & fitted with faux suede elbow patches. The Harris label bears the 'Applied in accordance' text which I believe came into use in about 1954.

Size: Suggested 40 Regular Photographed on a 38" mannequin. All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):

Condition: In good condition, with signs of wear overall - there is wear to the leading edges, especially on the lapel roll - a tiny hole on the lower left front near the hem - a repair to the hem edge just to the left of the centre back - slight yellowing to the collar fold - the lining has been replaced at some time & the original label re-attached . Has been thoroughly steamed but a faint storage smell & some mustiness at the armpits remains.
