A super stylish vintage 1940s dress, home made from drapey rayon fabric with a delightful jacquard woven pattern of small animals in a bronze brown colour. The bodice has a V neckline, lots of gathering into a diamond panel on the bust, and long, wide sleeves with pleats at the head & gathering into the cuff; the skirt is slightly flared, with multiple front pleats which are stitched down to just above the hip. There is a back keyhole opening with loop & button & a side opening with a replacement gold metal RiRi zip.

Condition: In good condition overall - there are 2 faint water or grease marks to the right front bodice (circled) - some greyish discolouration at the neck edges & a tint fray at the top right neck -some small snags & repairs to the sleeves (arrowed) - some wear & fraying to the cuff rouleau loops - subtle discolouration to the armpits - the zip is a modern replacement - on looking inside some of the seam edges are tufty & frayed. Has been carefully hand washed & steamed prior to listing
