Vintage 1950s plus fours, made from a lightweight wool tweed fabric in a small dogtooth weave of variegated greens, browns & black giving a somewhat olive shade from a distance. They are quite full-cut & wide in the leg, with double front pleats, button fly, braces buttons, 2 side slip, large flapped front cash & a buttoned rear pocket, & double buttons to fasten the hems. No labels present. Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
Size: Suggested 32" waist All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Waist: 16 1/8" (41cm) Inside leg: 22" (56cm) Outside leg: 34 1/2" (87.6cm) Rise - crotch seam to top of waist: 13 3/4" (35cm) Leg opening at hem: 6 1/8" (15.5cm) - no room to expand by moving the buttons.
Condition: In good condition with light wear overall & some minor flaws - a small hole near the right inside leg seam & a small hole/fray at the top of the right cuff vent (arrowed) - an area of tiny holes/snags just below the centre back waist (circled) - a few other tint snags/pulls which the camera couldn't see - some stains & discolouration to the waistband lining & pocket bags - a tear on the waistband where a brace button has pulled off. Have been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing, but a Febreze-type perfume remains.
