A fabulous vintage 1940s CC41 Utility scheme shirt dress, made from a drapey rayon fabric with a delightful novelty print of abstract hearts & flowers in purple, blues, yellow, white, & dark pink. It has an open neck with pointed collar & revers, shoulder yokes with pleats & gathers below & darts at the waist, & long sleeves with pleated heads & buttoning cuffs; the skirt is flared, with two side entry bellows patch pockets which are pleated into the waistband. The dress opens all down the front with blue plastic buttons, the cuffs fasten with smaller purple plastic buttons, & there are belt loops but no belt. There is a CC41 label at the inside neck facing but no other labels.

Condition:
In very good condition with light overall wear - some of the stitching is a bit tufty - the cuff buttons do not match the front buttons (but probably never did!) - on looking inside, some of the finishing is a bit untidy. Has been carefully hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
