An extraordinary pair of vintage late 1920s or early 1930s American golf knickers or plus fours, made from a lightweight, loosely woven slubby textured off-white fabric with a pale gingery brown geometric abstract zigzag pattern best shown in the close ups - for some reason the long shots picked it up as grey; it feels like a cotton/linen blend. They are flat fronted, with belt loops, button fly, 2 side slip pockets, a small watch or change pocket, & 2 rear pockets. The legs are full-cut and quite wide, with tabs & decorative buckles at the cuffs.

All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Waist: 22" (56cm)
Inside leg: 24" (61cm)
Outside leg: 36" (91.5cm)
Rise - crotch seam to top of waist: 14" (36cm)
Leg width at hem: 7 1/2" (19cm) at maximum fastening
Condition:
In good to very good condition, with light wear & some flaws - there are rusty marks at the front of the cuffs & a hole at the left rear cuff vent (arrowed) - some other rusty marks at the back waist area - seam strain at the edge of the watch pocket - a hole at the top of the back left waist dart (arrowed) - a few other small snags & strains as one would expect from this type of loose weave - 2 of the belt appear to have been moved - some faint marks & discolouration to the lining & pocket bags. Have been thoroughly steamed prior to listing.
