A superb vintage 1930s/1940s European workwear or uniform jacket, made from thick, heavyweight hairy wool fabric in a brownish grey mixture which is best shown in the close ups. Cut in a rather French style, with single-breasted 5-button front, generous 'Chevaliere' collar, lightly padded shoulders with rearward sloping seams, high armholes, fitted waist, 3 large patch pockets with flaps, & plain cuffs. Fully lined in sturdy cinnamon brown cotton with an inside pocket - no labels or stamps present to confirm country of origin.

Condition:
In very good to excellent condition overall, appears seldom worn - the bottom button is an odd replacement - on closer examination there are scattered surface nibbles here & there (some examples arrowed in close ups); in my opinion these are quite well hidden by the hairy nap. Has been carefully hand washed, steamed & brushed prior to listing.
