A super pair of vintage 1930s or 1940s French workwear trousers made from a thick, heavy weight, stiff, hairy wool fabric in marled donkey brown tones - it was hard to capture the colour but on my screen the close up of the fly buttons is most accurate. They are quite full-cut & wide in the leg, have flat front, rear cinch strap with prong buckle, button fly with metal 'Mode de Paris' buttons, belt loops, 2 side & 1 rear pockets with scalloped top-stitch details, a front cash or watch pocket, & plain hems.

Size: Suggested 30" waist.
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Waist: 15" (38cm) - about 1 1/2" to let out
Inside leg: 29" (74cm) [nothing to let down]
Outside leg: 41 1/2" (105.4cm)
Rise - crotch seam to top of waist: 13" (33cm)
Leg width at hem: 10 1/4" (26cm)
Condition:
In good but fairly well-used condition - there is surface wear to the high spots, around the pocket entries, the seat, & the hems - some wear & fraying inside the fly placket - a few small surface moth nips which the camera couldn't see - the hems have characterful blanket stitch repairs to the worn edges - some marks & wear to the lining & pocket bags. Have been hand washed, pressed & steamed prior to listing.
