A very stylish vintage 1930s or 1940s German overcoat made by the well-known 'Lodenfabrik Frey' of Munich from a thick, soft & slightly fleecy wool cloth in variegated dark blue with a subtle diagonal weave. It is double-breasted with 6 buttons, has broad lapels with rounded tips, strongly padded shoulders, notched gauntlet cuffs, 2 flapped lower patch pockets, & back belt with 2 buttons; all enhanced by double rows top-stitching on the seams & edges. Fully lined with blue-black satiny fabric, with 2 inside breast pockets.

Size: Suggested Medium Short/Regular, to fit about a 40" chest, depending on whether a suit jacket is worn beneath.

All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Chest - armpit to armpit: 23 1/2" (60cm)

Condition:
In good condition, with light wear overall & some flaws - there are multiple moth nips here & there plus some larger patches of moth grazing to the surface nap, most noticeably (but not exclusively) on the back of the collar, the top/back right shoulder, & on the centre back (see close ups; in my opinion these are not very apparent when worn as the moussey texture is quite camouflaging) - a moth hole on the inside facing near the pocket - some wear & fraying to the buttonholes - fraying & damage to the label - the front buttons are different to those on the back belt so some presumably are replacements. Has been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing.
