Vintage Mens 1930s 1940s NOS Faded French Trousers Slacks Sea Grey Green Wool Pants 32"
A nicely detailed, unworn but faded pair of vintage late 1930s or early 1940s French trousers made from a medium weight twill weave wool fabric in a pale sea grey/green shade. They are cut quite wide in the leg, have double inward pleats which are trapped for the top 2", deep waistband with extended tab & belt loops, unusually long darts at the back, button fly, 2 side pockets, 1 buttoned rear pocket, & hems with full depth turn-ups. It appears that a part of the left leg has been cut slightly off-grain resulting in a twist in the seams towards the hem, thus throwing the crease off-centre.
Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
Size: Suggested 32" waist.
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Waist: 16 1/2" (42cm) - nothing to let out
Inside leg: 31" (79cm) - nothing to let down without using the turn-ups
Outside leg: 43" (109cm)
Rise - crotch seam to top of waist: 13 1/2" (34cm)
Leg width at hem: 10 1/4" (26cm)
Condition:
In improperly stored old stock condition, never worn but noticeably faded from years of being folded, most apparent down the centre creases, across the right knee & down the left hip area - a few other faint storage marks here & there. Have been gently hand washed, pressed & steamed prior to listing.
I have a no returns policy - please check the above measurements and compare to a similar garment of your own before buying - no refund offered for items that don’t fit.
