Vintage Mens 1930s 1940s Plus Fours +4s Brown Glen Check Plaid Wool Trousers Breeks Pants 28"
A very stylish pair of vintage 1930s or 1940s plus fours which have unfortunately suffered from a moth attack. Made from a medium-weight wool glen plaid or Prince of Wales check fabric in shades of brown & green, they are full-cut & voluminous in the leg, with double front pleats, double front cash pockets, tunnel belt loops, button fly, braces buttons, 2 side slip, 2 buttoned flapped rear pockets, & double buttons to fasten the hems. Waistband lining & curtain in striped polished cotton, unusual large seat lining in brown wool flannel; no labels present. A small size, intended for a youth or slim man but could also work on a lady.
Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description.
Size: Suggested 28" waist
All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent):
Waist: 14" (35.5cm) [about 2" available to let out]
Inside leg: 25" (63.5cm)
Outside leg: 37" (94cm)
Rise - crotch seam to top of waist: 13" (33cm)
Leg opening at hem: 5 1/2" (14cm) - no room to expand by moving the buttons.
Condition:
In poor condition overall, do not appear much worn but have significant moth damage - there are numerous holes scattered overall, about 50 in total - a brownish stain by the left back pocket - some other spots & marks - rusty marks & discolouration to the waistband lining & pocket bags - rust on the waist hooks - one button is missing from each cuff. Have been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing, but a faint storage mustiness remains.
I have a no returns policy - please check the above measurements and compare to a similar garment of your own before buying - no refund offered for items that don’t fit.
